A theme, and its variations

This piece based on a theme and variations. The first 8 bars are the main theme of the music and continues with variations of the main theme.

Music contains traditional viola playing techniques from 20th century that most of the players feel comfortable. With this writing technique, I wantted to amplify the unique tone of the viola. The usage of 20 cents has a indescribable specific feeling through the lineer process.

The “C” string of the viola has a unique sound because of the body of the instrument is small for the capacity of the resonance of the “C” string. Hence, the body of the viola is small for the sound, it generates nasal tone. To enchence that specific sound, I used “C” string with upper positions.
